Postdoctoral Positions at MPI of Immunobiology and Epigenetics, Freiburg

We seek motivated and ambitious collaborators and provide a well-equipped, interactive environment. The institute operates central facilities for animal work, cell sorting, sequencing, imaging, and proteomics. Candidates should have completed their PhD work with distinction in an area broadly relevant to our work. Expertise in other fields, such as mathematical modelling, biochemistry, etc. is also welcome.

The salary will be a postdoctoral fellowship of the Max Planck Society.

A childcare facility is directly attached to the institute. Handicapped applicants with equal qualifications will be given preferential treatment. Research Position at the Pediatric Biology Centre, THSTI, India

The project involves the use of cellular, biochemical and molecular approaches to evaluate immune function as well as to estimate micronutrient levels in human umbilical cord blood.

Qualifications:
Required: The candidate should have a postgraduate degree in the medicine or a PhD in biological sciences, and should have a good academic record.
Desired:
Experience in one/more areas listed below is desirable:
Flow cytometry
Human pathology or nutritional biochemistry

Partner Studentships in Biology and Physics at University of York, UK

Partner Studentships offer a tuition fee waiver (at the home/EU rate) and a stipend. The studentship covers three years of full time PhD registration. The stipend is contributed by an external partner and is usually equivalent to a UK Research Council stipend (£13,590) for 2010-11. In addition, the Partner Studentship usually offers the opportunity to work with the external partner gaining valuable experience and career development at the same time as carrying out doctoral research. The eligible department will offer further guidance on the specific expectations of a particular Partner Studentship.
Eligibility: In order to be eligible you must:

  1. Have applied for a place on a full time PhD programme in the relevant Department.
  2. Have or expect to obtain a first or upper second class honours degree or equivalent prior to commencing the PhD degree.
