Faculty of Arts and Humanities Masters Scholarships -2011, London: History, Religion: Asia/Africa.

Four scholarships are available for overseas fee-paying students who are proposing to register for the full-time MA Religions or MA History: Asia/ Africa at SOAS for the academic session 2011/12.The scholarship, valued at £15,000, will be used to meet the cost of tuition fees at the overseas rate and the remaining sum may be used towards maintenance.

Global South Scholar-In-Residence Programme, Switzerland: International affairs, development studies, international economics, international relations, international law, international history and politics

The Institute is pleased to welcome academics from Africa, Asia and Latin America for a period of one semester.
Candidates are invited to apply to the programme. Successful applicants will be able to take advantage of their period in residence to update their teaching curricula, participate in teaching courses, further their research projects and contribute to enriching the intellectual life of the Institute.
Priority will be given to university teachers – with a preference for women and junior academics – who will seek to apply the benefits of their stay at the Institute upon returning to their own institutions.
Thanks to the generous support of a Swiss foundation that wishes to remain anonymous, the Institute will welcome three participants each semester who will spend between three and five months at the Institute.

PhD Studentship at Queen Mary, University of London: Geographical or historical

Queen Mary Studentships are open to suitably qualified candidates from the UK, EU and overseas. In the case of overseas applicants, the difference in cost between Home/EU and Overseas fees will be met by the School.The School is committed to appointing only the very best candidates to our PhD program. To apply you should have a good first degree (BA or BSc Honours or equivalent), at first class standard (or upper second class with clear evidence of 1st class work), and/or a Masters qualification (at Merit or above) in Geography or a cognate discipline related to the Studentship. Applicants for Studentship 4 (Emotions and the Home in Modern Britain) must hold a Masters degree in a geographical or historical subject related to the themes of the studentship.
