Wellcome Trust Doctoral Studentship (ETHOX), UK

The Ethox Centre has been awarded a major Wellcome Trust Enhancement Award to establish an international research network on the ethics of collaborative global health research. The network, which is a joint initiative of the Ethox Centre in Oxford and the Wellcome-KEMRI Unit in Kilifi, Kenya, will build ethics expertise and capacity both in the United Kingdom and in developing countries – with a particular emphasis on building capacity at the Wellcome Trust’s Major Overseas Programme sites.  The research activities of the network will focus on five themes: community engagement; global ethics governance; the ethics of research collaboration; the roles and responsibilities of research actors; and challenges in empirical ethics research. The award will fund DPhil studentships, the development of on-line resources, and a range of training activities.
