The recent economic and financial crises in the UK have created interesting debate about the future challenges faced by Britain in the global business world and in UK society. At Manchester Business School, we believe there is an essential need to invest in and develop young British talent who can rise to the future challenges of the global business environment and make a real difference as socially responsible business managers and leaders. With the aim of nurturing and fast- tracking future talent, we have decided to provide Full-time MBA programme opportunities for up to five very talented high-flyers to complete the Full-time MBA under a ‘Young Potential Leaders’ entry route. These individuals will demonstrate high potential for rapid career advancement and a track record of using their talent to improve society.
We are delighted to announce that the Young Potential Leaders programme is being supported by two scholarships kindly donated by one of our MBS alumni, Jurek Piasecki. Outstanding candidates accepted to the programme will be considered for two scholarship awards of up to £17,000.
Jurek Piasecki spent 25 years with the Goldsmiths Group, rising to become Chairman and CEO. Under his tenure the retailer grew its turnover from £3m to more than £300m. Goldsmiths was the UK’s second largest jewellery retailer in 2004.
Jurek obtained his MBA in 1973 and attributes much of his success to the Manchester Business School MBA programme. He now wishes to see others benefit from the same experience.
As a young British* potential leader, you will stand out from your peers. You should have the learning ability, cognitive agility and emotional intelligence to benefit from the opportunities and challenges of a world class full-time MBA programme. A maximum of five potential high-flyers will be accepted to join the programme.
You will have a burning ambition to fast-track your career in business combined with a high level of integrity and a desire to give back to the country in which we live.
Scholarship Application Deadline: 20 June 2011
