Vacation Scholarship Award 2011, Australia: Biomedical, social or applied research

If you wish to apply for a MSRA Vacation Scholarship first obtain a number from the Research Coordinator  ahead of the closing date. Please provide your name, application title and indicate separately if your application is in biomedical, social or applied research. The number will be emailed to you and must be used on your application and all correspondence. Please contact the latter if you wish to be advised of the MS researchers and the projects working in your locale. You must approach a researcher and obtain their agreement that you may complete your vacation scholarship work in their lab under their supervision and on their project. Please arrange for the supply of two (2) Referee Reports one of which must be the supervisor of the research you propose to undertake. The Referee reports are welcomed electronically but must be generated from the Referee’s email address and emailed directly to the MSRA Research Coordinator by the required closing date.

Please supply a detailed transcript of your academic results. This can be attached as a scanned document.Academic transcripts must be counter-signed, by reference to the original, by your supervisor. It is recognised that applications close before full year end results are available. The year end results will be requested before the scholarship is approved. You will be notified if these are required. Scholarships will be assessed during the MSRA Research Management Council grant round decisioning. All Vacation Scholarship applications must be submitted using this application form. Applications not submitted on this form will be ineligible for consideration. In terms of format, printing options must be set to single side and the font setting used should be Arial Narrow 11. Please delete this covering page before you submit your application. Teaching Fellowship in Human Anatomy at Bristol University, UK

Based within the Centre for Comparative and Clinical Anatomy, you will have particular responsibilities for the teaching of Topographical Anatomy to medical and dental students. You will undertake a substantial amount of dissecting room teaching, and contribute to the design and administration of courses. You will also act as the day-to-day lead for our team of Medical Demonstrators. You should, ideally, have experience in teaching topographical clinical anatomy, and a medical or dental qualification is essential. The Centre has excellent teaching facilities, including a recently completed Clinical Anatomy Suite. Please note that this post is fixed-term for 14 months in the first instance. Interviews will be held during the week commencing 18 April 2011.

2011 Pfizer Australia Research Fellowships in Australia: Biomedical

Pfizer Australia Research Fellowships awards Fellowships each year to outstanding biomedical scientists wishing to establish a research career in Australia. Each Fellowship allows the successful applicant to continue their program of research at an Australian university or research institution, by providing a 5-year grant covering salary, travel and other establishment costs. Each Fellowship is valued at up to AUD$1million.

As an indicative guide, the grant offers support to the individual at the level of Senior Lecturer, or occasionally, Reader salary range, with remaining funds used for other research related costs.The Fellowships are designed to support a specific research program to be conducted by the applicant, primarily within an Australian research centre.To be eligible to apply for a Fellowship, applicants should have a research-based doctoral degree in a scientific or medically related discipline, together with recognized post-doctoral achievements. A commitment to the establishment of a research career in Australia should be demonstrated by appropriate acknowledgment and support from a University or recognized local research institute. Ideally the applicant should have less then 10 year’s post doctoral experience.
