2012 International Ibsen Award in the Field of Drama and Theater in Norway

The International Ibsen Award Committee hereby calls for nominations of candidates for the International Ibsen Award 2012.The International Ibsen Award was established by the Norwegian Parliament in 2007, and amounts to NOK 2.5 million (approx. €300,000).The International Ibsen Award honors an individual, institution or organization that has brought new artistic dimensions to the world of drama or theater. The winner of the 2010 was the internationally renowned playwright Jon Fosse Award. In 2009 the winner was Ariane Mnouchkine – founder and leader of Théâtre du Soleil.

The right to nominate is open to anyone. The nomination letter must be written in English and state the reasons for nomination (maximum 3 pages). The letter should contain a brief CV for the candidate, and two-three suggested referees who know and can provide additional information about the candidate’s work. Self nominations are not acceptable. Nominations are strictly confidential. They should not be disclosed to the nominee or to others, not even after the prize winner has been announced.

Erasmus Mundus ALGANT Master Scholarship for International Students

The European Union supports the course by financing about a ten scholarships for students outside the European Union, and five for European students. Other sources of funding are also available and tuition fees are kept at a very reasonable level.

Students interested in applying have to complete the application. Below is a list of the documents that will be required in addition to the application form. Note in particular the English language proficiency requirement, since most courses will be in English.

Category A, B & C students

In ALGANT the amount of the full-study scholarships is variable. It is higher for Third-Country master students (Category A scholarships) than for European master students (Category B scholarships) and can be further reduced (to zero!) for those interested students that are selected by the ALGANT Commission, meeting the requirements of ALGANT excellence (Category C scholarships). More specifically:

-Category A Scholarship is an Erasmus Mundus Scholarship (possibly) provided by the European Community and can be awarded to masters students selected by the ALGANT Consortium who come from a country other than a Member State of the European Union, Iceland, Norway, Liechtenstein, Turkey, the Western Balkan countries or Switzerland and who are not residents nor have carried out their main activity (studies, work, etc.) for more than a total of 12 months over the last five years in such a country.

-Category B Scholarship is also an Erasmus Mundus Scholarship (possibly) provided by the European Community and can be awarded to any masters students selected by the ALGANT Commission who do not fulfil the Category A criteria defined above, for example, European students.

-Category C Scholarship is any other kind of Scholarship (possibly) provided by a very broad array of concerns such as math associations, research organizations, public institutions and private non-profit foundations (private self funding included).

Scholarship Application Deadline:The application deadline for the Academic Year 2011/2012 is January 14, 2011 for all categories of applicants.

SPACEMASTER-Joint European Master in Space Science and Technology, Europe

Erasmus Mundus scholarships will be awarded to students and scholars for each of the five Rounds of SpaceMaster beginning 2010-2014. The scholarships are available for EU and non-EU students. The number of scholarships for each Round will be defined by the EU Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA).

* EM scholarship amount for Category A* is 32000 EUR (after deduction of the tuition fees for 2 years) and includes:
o contribution to travel, installation and any other type of costs of 8000 EUR for two years of studies;
o monthly allowance of 1000 EUR during 22 study months and 2 months internship at a partner university or associate member during the first year
* EM scholarship amount for Category B** is 15000 EUR (after deduction of the tuition fees for 2 years) and includes:
o mobility grant of 3000 EUR for travel to a Third Country partner university;
o monthly allowance of 500 EUR during 22 study months and 2 months internship at a partner university or associate member during the first year

* Category A: students who come from a country other than an EU Member State, Iceland, Liechtenstein or Norway and who are not residents nor have carried out their main activity (studies, training or work) for more than a total of 12 months over the last five years in one of these countries
** Category B: students who do not fulfill the Category A criteria

Erasmus Mundus Application Limit
Do notice that for the academic year 2011-12, there is a maximum limit of THREE applications per student for Erasmus Mundus Masters Courses, according to the latest Call for Proposals (EAC/04/09). In the case that a student applies to more than three EM Courses he/she will be excluded from the selection for an Erasmus Mundus Scholarship.

Additional Scholarships

* During the second study year, the Consortium provides Erasmus mobility grants for all students who do not have the Erasmus Mundus scholarship from the Consortium and who fulfill the requirements for the grant. Requirements and information about the grant are available here:

* Students from ESA Member States may receive support from the European Space Agency, Directorate of Human Space Flight (pdf, web info)
