Scholarship Program for International Students

Scholarship Program for international students to pursue their postgraduate programmme in European institutions.

Job Description: MERIT is a multi-track research oriented Master programme within the guidelines of the Bologna process whose scope is Information and Communication Technologies.MERIT is a European 2-year post-graduate programme taught in English at the following institutions:
– Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC), Barcelona, Spain
– Kungliga Tekniska Högskolan (KTH), Stockholm, Sweden
– Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), formerly University of Karlsruhe, Germany
-Politecnico di Torino (PdT), Torino, Italy
-Université catholique de Louvain (UCL), Louvain, Belgium

MERIT Erasmus Mundus Category A student scholarships are addressed for highly qualified non-European students willing to study the MERIT programme in two of the above institutions beginning September 2011. The number of MERIT Erasmus Mundus Category A student scholarships for the MERIT course 2011-2013 has not yet been determined.
Additional Category A student scholarships for students under the Western Balkans and Turkey Window will also be granted.

MERIT Erasmus Mundus Category B student scholarships are addressed for highly qualified European students willing to study the MERIT programme in two of the above institutions beginning September 2011. The number of MERIT Erasmus Mundus Category B student scholarships for the MERIT programme 2011-2013 has not yet been determined.

The MERIT academic program is organized in 3 Areas of Knowledge and their corresponding 9 Specialisation
tracks which can be studied in any two of the institutions indicated below:
a) Microwave, Antennas, Remote Sensing and Photonics (UPC, KTH, PdT, KIT, UCL)
1. Microwaves and RF Circuits and Systems (UPC, PdT, UCL)
2. Antennas and EM modelling (UPC, PdT, KIT)
3. Remote Sensing and Imaging (UPC, KIT)
European Area of Higher Education
4. Photonics (KTH, KIT)
b) Wireless and Optical Communication Systems and Networks (UPC, KTH, PdT, KIT; UCL)
5. Information Transmission and Wireless Communication Systems (UPC, KTH, UCL)
6. Wireless Network Management (KTH, PdT)
7. Optical Communication Systems and Networks (UPC, PdT, KIT)
c) Multimedia Signal Processing (UPC, KTH, UCL)
8. Image and Video Processing (UPC, UCL)
9. Speech and Language Technologies (UPC, KTH)

Students applying for the MERIT Erasmus Mundus student scholarships must include up to 4 specialization options which can be:
a) Any of the 9 specialization tracks.
b) Any of the 3 AoK.
c) Indifferent.
In addition, students should also indicate which university they prefer, if any, for the second year of studies.

Deadline:
Online Application System: 1st December 2010
Deadline for online application: 17:00 (CET) January 11th 2011.
Notification of Scholarships: April-May 2011.
Start of MERIT studies: August-September 2011.

Macquarie University International Scholarships

Macquarie University International Scholarships are available across most courses to cover international tuition fees for study on campus at North Ryde in an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degree. Postgraduate courses not available under MUIS are Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Management, Master of Applied Finance (MAF), Master of Advanced Surgery and Master of Surgery.

Scholarships will be granted to cover the credit points required to complete a single undergraduate or postgraduate degree.

The scholarship provides course fees for the minimum course duration. No additional allowances are payable. The scholarship does NOT provide financial support in the form of a living allowance, nor does it provide for the cost of visa application, Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC), airfares, accommodation, conferences or other costs associated with study. Annual renewal of the MUIS is subject to satisfactory performance in the Macquarie University degree program.

Applicants must:

* Be a citizen of a country other than Australia or New Zealand.
* Have met the University’s academic and English requirements for the course to be considered for a scholarship (must hold a FULL OFFER by the application deadline).
* Have achieved a minimum GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0 for Postgraduate applications and minimum requirement of an ATAR equivalent of 90 out of 100 for Undergraduate applications.

You are not eligible if:

* You are a citizen of Australia or New Zealand, or hold permanent residency of Australia.
* You are currently enrolled at Macquarie University for a program which is equivalent in level.
* You have completed the same level or a higher level of study previously.
* You are in receipt of another equivalent or major award or scholarship.
* You are a Study Abroad or an Exchange student coming to Macquarie University.

Postgraduate scholarships for graduate students

Postgraduate scholarships for graduate students in the field of science and engineering at Australian tertiary institutions

Job Description: : A full-time postgraduate students for research leading to the award of a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD).By doing your doctorate with CSIRO you will have access to world-class facilities and work alongside Australia’s leading research scientists.

PhD students at CSIRO are co-supervised by a university, allowing students to maintain and develop their university connections while being exposed to research in a working environment.

CSIRO offers full and top-up three year Postgraduate Scholarships to high quality students who are enrolled in a PhD at an Australian University.

Top up scholarships are available to those doctoral students who gain or expect to gain an Australian Postgraduate Award (APA) or equivalent university award. In some circumstances full scholarships may also be available.

Recipients of Postgraduate Scholarships are generally required to be Australian citizens or have permanent residency status.

However, in fields in which there is a national skill shortage, scholarships may be awarded to overseas candidates, provided they are prepared to seek permanent residency during the studentship. International students must be able to provide evidence of admission to an Australian university.

CSIRO’s National Research Flagship Program also offers full and top-up scholarships.

CSIRO’s corporate Honours and Postgraduate Scholarship Program offers Honours, Top-up and full PhD scholarships which are advertised in October/November each year.

CSIRO’s National Research Flagship Program offers full and top up scholarships which are advertised in September/October/November each year.

CSIRO research divisions offer full and top up scholarships throughout the year. These opportunities will be advertised on CSIRO’s Positions Vacant.
