Ian Wilson Liberal Research Scholarship 2011, Australia: Social Policy, Education and Health, Jurisprudence

The purpose of this scholarship is to enable applicants to undertake further postgraduate study or research. The Scholarship is intended to supplement the major scholarship held by the recipient, subject to the terms and conditions of the major scholarship. The scholarship is open to applicants undertaking research which will lead to sound analysis and conclusions for reform capable of practical application and advocacy in Australia, in the fields of:
social policy, including policy relating to:social security and welfare payments and income support schemes; taxation; and superannuation and other forms of retirement income provision; education and health as they affect individual and family well being; jurisprudence, constitutional law and Commonwealth-State relations; environment; heritage; the arts; and indigenous affairs.

Value: Up to $15,000 for one year only

Allergy Academy Education Fellow, UK: Paediatric or adult allergy

Applications are invited for an Allergy Academy Education Fellow post in Paediatric or Adult Allergy. This is a new post and the first of its kind in UK allergology. It offers a unique opportunity to be involved in the continued development of an educational initiative already providing postgraduate education to over 1000 health care professionals per year. As well as having a pivotal role in the delivery of education, both directly and online, the role will also offer clinical and research opportunities. The post includes the delivery of 2 allergy clinics per week as well as a research fellow role in 2 clinical research studies, with the assistance of MCRN nurses. The post holder will become a fully integrated member of the clinical academic team.

Foundation Grants for Women 2011, UK

FfWG offers Foundation Grants to help women graduates with their living expenses (not fees) while registered for study or research at an approved institution of higher education in Great Britain . The criteria are the proven needs of the applicant and their academic calibre.  For the academic year 2011 – 2012 grants will only be given for a postgraduate doctoral award e.g. PhD or D.Phil . They are not likely to exceed £6,000.  All our grants are offered on a needs basis and therefore not all grants will be for £6,000.  Those who have received a Foundation Main Grant in the past are not eligible to apply.

Grant holders must submit a written report on their year’s work within six weeks of the end of their academic year.
