2011 Elite Research Scholarships at University of Tasmania, Australia: Health and medical sciences, natural, physical and applied sciences, business and management, regional development, education and Humanities

The University of Tasmania has over 100 Elite Research Scholarships for PhD candidates in areas we excel in: the health and medical sciences, natural, physical and applied sciences, as well as business and management, regional development, education and the humanities.Our Elite Research Scholarships are valued at $30k per annum tax-free, and are available for three years, with a possible six-month extension.We also support our PhD candidates with a suite of practical resources throughout their Higher Degrees by Research including laptops, opportunities for performance-based scholarship top ups, cloud data storage, a conference support fund, generic skilling and supportive candidature management which help each candidate navigate their own research path.

ESRC Doctoral Training Centre Scholarships in Sociology , University of Sheffield, UK

As part of the White Rose Doctoral Training Centre, we are offering 2 scholarships on the sociology training pathway for students wishing to study for a PhD in the Department of Sociological Studies. ESRC Scholarships provide an annual bursary of £13,590, Home/EU tuition fees and a contribution to research expenses. These scholarships are available on a 1+3 (MA+PhD) or a +3 basis (PhD). 1+3: is a four year registration where you would undertake the MA in Sociological Research and upon completion transfer to three year registration for MPhil/PhD           +3: if you already have an ESRC research training recognised MA, then application for the +3 studentships is appropriate. This is a three year award for students intending to study for their PhD only. The White Rose Doctoral Training Centre (DTC), is a major new collaboration between the Universities of Leeds, Sheffield and York with a total of 48 ESRC studentships per year over 5 years. The White Rose DTC is one of the largest consortia in the country and offers a wealth of supervisory expertise across the social sciences as well as numerous training opportunities, particularly focused upon maximizing the social and economic benefits of your research. Students will work together with others studying in their discipline from across Yorkshire and have lots of opportunities to develop their Interdisciplinary networks and expertise. 2011-2012 Newcastle University Kazakhstan Scholarships, UK: Humanities Arts and Social Sciences (HASS), Science, Agriculture and Engineering (SAgE), and Medical Sciences

The International Office is delighted to announce 2 Newcastle University Kazakhstan Scholarship (NU Kazakhstan Scholarship) awards. These are available for high achieving Kazakh students applying for entry onto postgraduate taught degree or research programmes within the Faculties of Humanities Arts and Social Sciences (HASS), Science, Agriculture and Engineering (SAgE), and Medical Sciences (FMS) commencing their studies in September 2011.  Each scholarship will have a value of £2,500, payable towards the first year of tuition fees.
Eligibility: You could be eligible to apply for a NU Kazakhstan Scholarship if: have been offered a place on any postgraduate degree programme in the faculties of HASS,  SAgE or FMS.You are a Kazakh national and have been assessed as international/overseas for fees purposes.You have a “Red Diploma” degree, Backlavr or Specialist Diploma, from a recognised Kazakh University and satisfy all other requirements. You intend to register to start your studies during the 2011-12 academic years. You are a self-funded student and not in receipt of other University or external awards
