EUROSA – Europe & South Africa Partnership Scholarship Program for Human Development: Agricultural Sciences, Architecture, Urban and Regional Planning

The EUROSA group awards 88 grants in total to support South African mobility to Europe at master, PhD and staff level. The duration of the mobility periods may vary from 1 to 34 months according to type and level of mobility. Grants include a monthly allowance, health insurance, tuition fees (if applicable) and travel costs from South Africa to Europe.

Who can apply?

· South African nationals only
· master students, PhD students and staff studying or working at one of the South African partner institutions (= TARGET GROUP 1)
· master students and PhD students a) registered at one of the South African universities that are not part of the EUROSA network or b) master students and PhD students having obtained a first diploma at a South African higher education institution (= TARGET GROUP 2)

The EUROSA group encourages the participation of historically disadvantaged, economically deprived, and disabled individuals with excellent academic potential.

Life Sciences Business Development Programme for Member of Any South African University in Switzerland

A small limited number of people with a promising life science project are sponsored and invited to attend a 5 days Business Development Program in Switzerland on June 20th to 24th 2011. This program is sponsored by the Swiss South African Joint Research Program (SSAJRP). You as a participant will be visiting biotech and pharma companies together with Swiss biotech entrepreneurs, and you will be attending workshop sessions on intellectual property, drug development, financing, regulatory, etc.
The application is simple: You need to submit a project description form and a teaser factsheet of your project (1-2 page executive summary), with which you should convince us about the potential and innovativeness of your project.

PHD Scholarship for Students Pursuing Studies in Environmental Economics,University of Pretoria, South Africa

Under this program, PhD Scholarships will be offered to candidates intending to pursue PhD studies in environmental economics. Eligible candidates include all African scholars who have been admitted or will be admitted for PhD studies at the University of Pretoria. There will be two doctoral scholarships each year over the life of the project. The scholarship will be designed to reward especially those with strong academic performances in their bachelors and masters degrees. Selection will be done by the CEEPA Secretariat and will be on a competitive basis and taking into account gender and geographical considerations.

* proof that admission to the PhD program has been (or will be) granted at the University of Pretoria

This scholarship provides a subsistence allowance of R3000.00 per month plus all other costs associated with the study program such as tuition, registrations, medical cover and travel costs. The scholarship is granted for a maximum duration of 3 years.

Scholarship Application Deadline: Applicants must separately send to CEEPA the following required documents no later than end of December of the year preceding the year of admission to and commencement of the PhD program.
