Postdoctoral Position, Faculty of Biochemistry, Biophysics and Biotechnology, Jagiellonian University, Kraków

Key responsibilities include:
1. synthesis and evaluation of novel photosensitizers for PDT
2. in vitro and in vivo evaluation of novel photosensitizers for PDT
3. spectroscopic characterization of model pigments and photosynthetic complexes
Profile of candidates:
1. PhD in life sciences or biomedical sciences, obtained not longer than 4 years ago
2. research experience (reflected in the publication record) in:
post 1: design, synthesis and evaluation of photosensitizers for PDT
post 2: spectroscopic investigations of photosensitizers or photosynthetic pigments and complexes
3. good knowledge of English language
4. strong motivation to research and experimental work

The Freshman/Sophomore Scholarship Program , USA: Food Science and Food Technology

The Freshman/Sophomore Scholarship program encourages outstanding students to pursue a B.S. at an IFT-approved university in the field of food science and food technology.
For sophomore scholarships, any freshman must intend to enroll or be enrolled in an approved food science/technology program, except as otherwise noted, who has maintained at least a 3.0 GPA (A=4.0) for the first term of study, and who has the recommendation of the department head.
Scholarships are available to Freshmen with a 3.0 GPA or above, pursuing a curriculum in food science or food technology, and intending to enroll or be enrolled in an IFT-approved university.  Scholarships are available to Sophomores with a 3.0 GPA or above currently enrolled in an IFT-approved university pursuing a food science or food technology degree. (for purposes of this document, approved program means the program meets the “IFT Undergraduate Education Standards for Degrees in Food Science,” as determined by the Committee on Higher Education).
