Vienna University of Technology “Die Presse” Scholarship for MSc 2011, Austria

The scholarship is funded by Die Presse in the amount of EUR 14,000 this year and thus contributes indirectly to the diffusion process of future issues of alternative energy production. The scholarship holder is will get the chance of continuing education in terms of “pioneering spirits”.
The field Renewable Energy was reserved for pioneering spirits, idealists, and lateral entrants, all of whom played an important part in the development of this sector. Meanwhile there is an increasing demand of the economy for well-founded know-how on renewable energy. The unique, interdisciplinary part-time MSc Program by the Vienna University of Technology in cooperation with Energiepark Bruck/Leitha will accept this challenge.
The candidate interested in the scholarship are kindly asked to send their application documents (CV and a compelling motivation letter) in English. The scholarship will be awarded by a jury. EUR 5,000 have to be paid on the scholarship´s own risk. Any recourse of law is excluded. The winner will be informed.

2011 International PhD Programme in Molecular Life Sciences, Vienna

A PhD at the VBC usually lasts three or four years. The initial contract for incoming PhD students is for three years. If students are making progress in their research and would like to stay in the lab for an additional year, the thesis committee can grant an extension. All students are expected to complete their degrees within four years.

Getting into the VBC PhD programme requires three things: a written application, a personal interview, and a PhD position offer from a VBC group leader.

What’s required?
• Completed online application
• Two letters of recommendation
• A university degree that would formally qualify you to enter a PhD or equivalent programme in the country where the degree was obtained. We welcome applicants from the USA and the United Kingdom and we would ask you to contact the administrator for further details of how to apply
• less than 30 years of age at the time of application
