Masters Scholarships in Media Film and Music, University of Sussex, UK

The School of Media, Film and Music is delighted to offer four £5,000 scholarships to UK/HEU and non EU students who have been accepted on any of the following Masters programmes starting in October 2011.Film Studies, Gender and Media, Media and Cultural Studies, Creative Media Practice, Digital Media, Digital Documentary, Journalism and Media, Journalism and Document, Multimedia Journalism, Music, Opera and Music Theater, Composing Sonic Media. The scholarships are offered as a reduction in tuition fees of £5,000 and will be awarded to students who possess the highest academic ability and potential (not made on the basis of financial need).

King’s Africa Masters Scholarships, King’s College London 2011 in UK

Applicants must: Be due to commence a full-time postgraduate masters programme or MPhilStud programme at King’s College London during the 2011/12 academic year;Be liable to pay tuition fees at the full international/overseas rate. Please note that: Existing postgraduate masters/MPhilStud degree students are not eligible to apply. These studentships cannot be held on a part-time basis; students must be currently living within their home country in order to be eligible. The Graduate School at King’s College London is offering 3 scholarships to students of African nationality who wish to pursue a full-time postgraduate masters or MPhilStud degree programme in any discipline at King’s College London commencing in the 2011/12 academic year.Value of award :£5,000

Visiting PhD Fellowships at USC for International Students, USA

Resisting the Path to Genocide,a College 2020 Research Cluster at the University of Southern California (USC), offers funding for one visiting Ph.D. candidate per semester, beginning in Spring of 2011 through Spring 2013.The grant will be up to $4000 and shall allow the candidate to conduct research at USC for four weeks.
We are accepting international applications from Ph.D. candidates at any university, from any relevant discipline, who are working on a subject relevant to the cluster’s activities.
An interdisciplinary committee of faculty members involved with the research cluster will select the candidate, who will be chosen on the basis of:

  • how closely the candidate’s research relates to the topic of genocide resistance, and can contribute to scholarly discussion of genocide resistance within the cluster
  • the extent to which the use of USC’s resources will enable the candidate to further his or her ongoing research, or to conduct a smaller research project during the length of his or her stay at USC
