As one of the leading organizations for applied research and development in Europe, it offers dedicated scientists challenging tasks with a high degree of responsibility and creativity.

Your future key responsibilities will involve:
• regional and national economic analyses focusing clearly on research- and development-related structures as well as actors in Central and Eastern Europe
• evaluation of performance, institutional design and international integration in research, development and innovation, focusing particularly on cluster structures
• theoretical and empirical investigations of strategic issues concerning innovation capabilities and future lead markets
• analysis and international comparison of research, development and innovation systems.

Our Requirements:
• a university degree in Economic Geography, Economics or a related discipline with very good results
• experience in quantitative and qualitative methods of empirical economic research
• good knowledge in statistics
• team player in scientific projects
• preparation and convincing presentation of research results
• organizational capacity and high flexibility
• independence and above-average resilience
• fluent in English, ideally knowledge of another language spoken in Central and Eastern Europe

Advantageously, you have proven work experience. Furthermore, you are well acquainted with current empirical methods of economic and political research, especially in a regional context. Ideally, you have project and international experience, particularly in Central and Eastern Europe.

Australia-India Strategic Research Fund, Australia-India: Strategic Research

The Australia-India Strategic Research Fund (AISRF) is a platform for bilateral collaborationin science, jointly managed and funded by the governments of India and Australia. Since its establishment in 2006, the AISRF has supported collaborative, leading-edge research between scientists in India and Australia across a range of agreed priority areas.
It has also helped to build linkages between premier research and educational institutions in both countries.
The AISRF is Australia’s largest fund dedicated to bilateral collaboration in science with any country. The Australian Government has committed a total of AUD 65 million over the current life of the Fund, with the Government of India providing matching funding. It is also one of India’s largest sources of support for international collaboration in science.
The AISRF consists of different components, each of which has specific objectives, application processes and funding rules. Currently, the components are:
– the Indo-Australian Science and Technology Fund;
– the Indo-Australian Biotechnology Fund; and
– the Grand Challenge Fund.

Eligibility for funding
To be eligible for funding under the Grand Challenge Fund the consortium must:
– include at least one Australian and one Indian ‘eligible organisation’
– seek support for a collaborative research project in one of the priority themes

India specific criterion:
– Indian consortium members must lodge one hard copy of the expression of interest and, if invited to proceed to Stage 2 three copies of the full application with DST.

International secondary school students entering an undergraduate program at UOIT on a study permit and who are currently studying outside of Canada are eligible for UOIT’s Global Leadership Award (GLA). This scholarship is one of UOIT’s most prestigious entrance awards.
