University of Southampton International Undergraduate Scholarship 2011-2012, UK: Graphic Art, Fine Art, Fashion designing & Marketing

Winchester School of Art announced a number of Undergraduate scholarships to both UK/EU and international students every year. Scholarships have been put in place to assist students during their studies at the School.
These are available to first-year International students who are not on a collaborative or exchange programme. These scholarships are £1,000 and are offered on a competitive basis. A limited number of scholarships are available to full-time Undergraduate students who have accepted a place on an Undergraduate Programme (BA) for the coming academic year and who are not in receipt of any other scholarship/ bursary from Winchester School of Art .These scholarships are for the first year only.

PhD Studentships Positions in the Department of Politics, University of Surrey, UK

We are pleased to offer three PhD studentships to conduct doctoral research and teach on a variety of undergraduate courses within the Department of Politics. The successful applicants will have good first degrees (and preferably Master’s degrees) in politics, international relations or a related discipline and a strong interest in both teaching and academic research. They will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Previous teaching experience will be an advantage. Good organisational and IT skills are essential, as well as the ability to work independently and in a team.
The post-holders will register for full-time PhDs in a politics- or policy-related area within the Department (see www.surrey.ac.uk/politics for details of our specific areas of interest). In return for the studentship, they will be required to provide 180 hours of support (per academic year) to the Department’s undergraduate programme in the form of seminar teaching and marking.  Training and support will be provided. To apply, please send: a letter explaining why you are interested in the studentship, and how you meet the criteria specified on the ‘further information sheet’; a short proposal (maximum 2000 words) for the doctoral research you are interested in undertaking; and a CV including the names of two referees.
