PhD Studentships Positions in the Department of Politics, University of Surrey, UK

We are pleased to offer three PhD studentships to conduct doctoral research and teach on a variety of undergraduate courses within the Department of Politics. The successful applicants will have good first degrees (and preferably Master’s degrees) in politics, international relations or a related discipline and a strong interest in both teaching and academic research. They will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Previous teaching experience will be an advantage. Good organisational and IT skills are essential, as well as the ability to work independently and in a team.
The post-holders will register for full-time PhDs in a politics- or policy-related area within the Department (see www.surrey.ac.uk/politics for details of our specific areas of interest). In return for the studentship, they will be required to provide 180 hours of support (per academic year) to the Department’s undergraduate programme in the form of seminar teaching and marking.  Training and support will be provided.
