2011 International Undergraduate Scholarships at Humber College, Canada

Humber offers three full tuition renewable scholarships (Approximate value $12,200 CAD). These scholarships are available for NEW international students only (two offered in September and one offered in January of each year). Applications will be considered based on academics, community involvement, referee/reference letters and statement of interest. Renewal of the scholarship will be based on the student’s ability to maintain a 70% GPA in each year of his/her program at Humber. An application form will be included with your acceptance package. The scholarships will be applied toward the successful students’ application fees. Humber offers three $5,000 CAD renewable scholarships each year. Cyprus International Institute-Harvard School of Public Health Masters Programs: Environmental Health and Epidemiology/Biostatistics

Given the collaborative nature of these academic programs, Harvard faculty members visit Cyprus regularly for extended periods to teach courses at the institute. Given also the collaborative nature of these programs, certain masters students graduated in the past got admitted to PhD programs at Harvard – along with other top tier prestigious schools. Rest have found their choice of jobs with the industry, government and as well consulting agencies.
CII doors are open to all the bright students from all over the world, who have broad interests in environmental and public health areas. CII also offers scholarships and financial aid that are very generous compared to several other equivalent programs in Europe/North America. Students with environmental/agricultural/chemical/biological/statistical sciences background would be a good fit in these programs.

Three Sino-Danish PhD Scholarships Available within the Area “Water and Environment”

In collaboration with The Sino-Danish Center for Education and Research (SDC)* in Beijing, China, Aarhus University hereby offer three PhD scholarships within the following five topics:

1) Cereal crop productivity and nitrogen cycling under climate change

2) Influence of land-use and management on nitrogen leaching in two agricultural catchments in China and Denmark

3) Climate change effects on trophic dynamics in streams with special emphasis on the role of fish

4) Nitrogen dynamics in lakes and implications for trophic dynamics

5) Carbon sequestration and greenhouse gas emissions in wetlands

The three topics receiving the best qualified candidates will be offered a full PhD scholarship,

The PhD students will be enrolled at Aarhus Faculty of Science and Technology and at GUCAS (Graduate University of Chinese Academy of Sciences) and receive a double degree from the two institutions. The candidates must be willing to stay at least 1 year in China during the PhD period. Chinese citizens are not eligible for the scholarships.
