PhD Position in Privacy and Security in Wireless Sensor Networks, Spain

The Wireless Communications Research Group offers a research oriented PhD position. We seek an outstanding student, self-motivated and with a critical attitude, to undertake a PhD in security and privacy issues of sensor networks. A
strong background in mathematics as well as some previous work in cryptography will be viewed favorably.
Applicants must hold a Master Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics or a related field. A full-time PhD Scholarship in Physics, Australia: High power beam conversion in diamond raman lasers

A full-time PhD scholarship is available in Physics, MQ Photonics Research Centre, at Macquarie University to be taken up in 2010 or for commencement during Semester 1, 2011 for a suitably qualified domestic or international candidate.
Successful applicants will join a growing team of researchers within the MQ Photonics Research Centre that aspire to make major advances in diamond lasers, micro-optical systems and nonlinear Raman interactions.
Applicants should have an honours degree in physics or optical engineering or equivalent, preferably specialising in optics and photonics.

PhD Studentship in Computer Science with Specialisation in Computing Education Research, Sweden

The position is located within the Uppsala Computing Education Research Group (UpCERG) at the Department of Information Technology. UpCERG conducts research in Computing and Engineering Education, with a focus on student understanding and support for innovative curriculum development. The research is driven by a desire to contribute to the body of Scholarship of Learning and Teaching that informs educational practice in computing. The aim is to explore and develop undergraduate and graduate education in computing, and related fields, through the use of rigorous research methods. Research foci are chosen with a view to their potential impact on computing and engineering education.
pplications should include a description of research interests and past experience, a CV, copies of degrees and/or diplomas and transcript of results, a copy of Master/Honours thesis (or a draft thereof), relevant publications, and other relevant documents. Candidates are encouraged to provide contact information to reference persons. A good grasp of written and spoken English is required.
