2011 IRP Fellowships in International Journalism, USA

In the fall of 2011, the International Reporting Project (IRP) will offer up to 10 IRP Fellowships to U.S. journalists to carry out a project reporting from any country in the world outside the United States. The fellowships are open to all U.S. journalists with at least five years of professional experience in any medium.
– Four IRP Fellowships will be reserved for journalists proposing reporting projects on topics of international religion. Applicants for these fellowships should check the box on the application form to indicate they are applying for one of these fellowships.
– One IRP/Stanley Foundation Fellowship will be reserved for journalists proposing reporting projects on topics dealing with peace building or prevention of atrocities or genocide. Applicants for this fellowship should check the box on the application form for this fellowship.
– Other Fellowships will be awarded to journalists proposing any international reporting project. Applicants should check the box on the application form indicating they are applying for a general IRP Fellowship.

Senior Research Fellowship, School of Biosciences and Technology, VIT University, India

Applications are invited for the Post of Senior Research Fellow (SRF) for the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), Govt. of India Funded project entitled, “Biochemical and Molecular investigation of Plant Dyes” in School of Bio Sciences and Technology (SBST), VIT University, Vellore – 632 014.

Number of positions: One

Qualification: M.Sc. (Biotechnology) with one or two years experience. Knowledge on chromatographic and Molecular Biology techniques is mandatory and NET qualified candidate will be preferred.

Duration of the project : 3 years

Fellowship : Rs.16000/- per month.

MyoGrad International Research Fellowship 2011, Germany

In November 2009 the German Research Foundation (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft, DFG) established MyoGrad – the International Research Training Group for Myology. Partner institutions are the Free University Berlin and the Medical Faculty of the Charité in Berlin together with the University Pierre et Marie Curie in Paris (Paris VI). The working language of the program is English.

In the course of the program MyoGrad students have also access to complementary training classes in transferable skills (writing scientific papers, grant application etc.) thus ensuring long-term scientific success. Teaching in Summer School settings, continuous communication between students and teachers in seminars and journal clubs face-to-face and online and a myology “E-learning” platform are the cornerstones of the educational concept.
