Post Graduate Scholarship at The Sugar Research and Development Corporation

The Sugar Research and Development Corporation (SRDC) invites applications for three Postgraduate Scholarships to foster training in technical and social disciplines relevant to SRDC’s research priorities.  Information on SRDC’s research priorities is available in the SRDC R&D Plan 2007-2012. This document may be obtained from the SRDC website.

SRDC encourages applications from current industry participants and from new participants in sugar industry R&D.  Scholarship Project Proposals may be for PhD, Masters, Graduate Diploma or Graduate Certificate level courses.  SRDC will consider applications of candidates that hold other available bursaries. SRDC will also consider part time scholarships for course work.

Scholarships are open to citizens and/or permanent residents of Australia, and are for students intending to commence study in 2011. Scholarships provide $26,000 stipend and $6,000 towards operating costs or fees per year for up to three years of full time study, and $1,000 for thesis publication costs.  For course work scholarships SRDC will provide fee support in lieu of operating funds.

SRDC will short-list applicants in October 2010.  If short listed, you will be required to take aptitude and psychometric tests, make a short presentation and be interviewed in the months of October and November. Scholarship awardees will be advised early in December 2010.

Applications using the Scholarship Proposal Form must be submitted electronically as an email attachment to apply@srdc.gov.au by 3 September 2010. Only applications using the correct Proposal Form will be accepted by SRDC.
