Public Health Informatics Fellowship Program, USA

PHIFP is a 2-year paid fellowship in public health informatics. The competency-based and hands-on training allows you to apply information and computer science and technology to solve real-world problems.

You will have the opportunity to:

  • Learn about informatics and public health
  • Work with teams involved in research and development of public health information systems
  • Lead an informatics project
  • Design, develop, implement, evaluate, and manage public health information systems .

  • Meet both the educational and professional requirements
  • Be willing to commit to a 2-year full-time program
  • Be willing to relocate to Atlanta, Georgia
    • Educational Requirements:A doctoral (PhD, MD) or masters level degree is required. Qualifying degree must be from an accredited academic institution in one of the following:

    • Public health, medicine, health care, health-services research
    • Computer science, information science, information systems
    • Statistics
    • Epidemiology
    • Public health informatics or related discipline
      Professional Requirements:Documented 1-year experience for doctoral level candidates and 3-year experience for masters level candidates is required in one of the following fields:

    • Public health informatics
    • Health informatics or related field
    • Information systems
    • Information science
    • Computer science
    • Information technology
    • Additionally, documented 1-year experience for doctoral level candidates and 3-year experience for masters level candidates is required in one of the following areas:

    • Public health
    • Related healthcare profession (medicine, nursing, veterinary medicine, dentistry, allied health professions)
      Research Requirements:Documented experience in performing research or evaluation during or after academic training (e.g., publication, thesis, poster presentation, research/evaluation proposal).

    Senior Research Fellow in Health Technology Assessment, Peninsula College of Medicine & Dentistry, UK

    The Peninsula Technology Assessment Group (PenTAG) at the Peninsula College of Medicine and Dentistry seeks a highly motivated senior researcher with experience of project and people management to lead its team of decision analytic modellers in carrying out economic evaluations in Health Technology Assessments (HTA) for national policy makers. PenTAG provides a series of HTAs for NICE and other bodies under contract to the NIHR HTA Programme.
    You will be educated to degree level or equivalent and will have experience of designing and undertaking decision analytic model-based economic evaluations. You will have a record of research publications and good understanding of the UK NHS policy-making environment.

    You will be an internationally recognized authority in health technology assessment and economic evaluation and possess an in depth understanding of this area to enable the development of new knowledge and understanding within the field. In addition, you will provide academic leadership to research teams, lead and develop internal and external networks and develop links with external contacts in order to foster collaboration and generate income.
