University of Cambridge, Research Scholarship in Veterinary Medicine 2011 in UK

rade 7: £27,319.00 to £35,646.00

Start date: 1st April 2011
Limit of Tenure: 31st March 2012

The successful applicant will work with an NIH sponsored team based at the
University with access to advice from scientists at the MRC’s LMB, to unravel
successful vaccine induced B-cell responses induced by novel HIV vaccine
candidates. This individual will select antigen specific B-cells, and amplify,
sequence and clone B-cell receptor genes induced by vaccination.
Immunoglobulin genes from B-cells capable of inducing broad neutralising
antibodies will be expressed, sequenced, and ultimately compared to germ
line lineages.

You must have a relevant PhD and lab experience in molecular biology and
immunology. Experience in monoclonal antibody technology, PCR cloning
and sequencing, and antigen selection of B-cells will be preferred. The
candidate should have good communication skills and be able to write reports
and present them at lab meetings, and international meetings with
collaborators.
