TBA Masters Scholarship for African Nationals, Kenya: Tropical Biology

Funded through a consortium of TBA funders, The TBA Postgraduate Scholarships are annually offered by the Tropical Biology Association to its African alumni. They are intended to help African alumni undertake postgraduate studies after they have attended TBA courses, as part of the TBA alumni follow up support programme designed to promote human resource development and strengthen professional expertise among African biologists in biodiversity conservation and research.

Scholarship includes:

* Funding granted for up to two years of study leading to the award of a Masters degree.
* Depending on the proposed study programme, the scholarship will include tuition fees, travel costs, study materials, and a modest living allowance.

Eligibility:
* Applicants must be nationals from Africa who have attended a TBA course.
* Priority will be given to those who attended courses since 2001.

Applicants must pursue a postgraduate degree that will directly enhance their research and conservation skills as is relevant to their own country.

King’s Africa Masters Scholarships, King’s College London 2011 in UK

Applicants must: Be due to commence a full-time postgraduate masters programme or MPhilStud programme at King’s College London during the 2011/12 academic year;Be liable to pay tuition fees at the full international/overseas rate. Please note that: Existing postgraduate masters/MPhilStud degree students are not eligible to apply. These studentships cannot be held on a part-time basis; students must be currently living within their home country in order to be eligible. Students who have previously studied outside of their home country are not eligible Applicable subjects :-All subject areas.
The Graduate School at King’s College London is offering 3 scholarships to students of African nationality who wish to pursue a full-time postgraduate masters or MPhilStud degree programme in any discipline at King’s College London commencing in the 2011/12 academic year.Value of award :£5,000
Specified use:These scholarships can be used to contribute towards tuition fees or living costs. Subject to satisfactory progress, this award is valid for the full duration of the postgraduate programme.

Moremi Initiative for Women’s Leadership in Africa 2011

Moremi Initiative for Women’s Leadership in Africa is pleased to announce its call for applications for the 2011 Moremi Leadership Empowerment and Development (MILEAD) Fellows Program.
The MILEAD Fellows Program is a one-year leadership development program designed to identify, develop and promote emerging young African Women leaders to attain and succeed in leadership in their community and Africa as a whole. The program targets dynamic young women interested in developing transformational leadership skills that help them tackle issues affecting women in their communities and society as a whole. Applications are welcome from young African women living in Africa and the Diaspora.
MILEAD fellowship awards will be made to 25 young women with exceptional qualities who have exhibited leadership potential in their community, organization, and/or profession. To be eligible for the one-year program, an applicant must be African, living on the continent or in the Diaspora; agree to participate in all required activities related to MILEAD including a three-week residential Summer Institute in August; and commit to a community leadership service project. Applicant must be between 19 – 25 years of age. Specific requirements of the program and related dates are outlined in the application package.
