2011 Atlas Corps Fellowship Program in the U.S. or Colombia

Atlas Corps accepts applications four months out of the year to become Atlas Corps Fellows. We encourage you to apply between February 15 to April 15 for the Fall class starting in September and between August 15 to October 15 for the Spring class starting in March.

You can apply to become a Fellow if you meet the following minimum requirements:

* 3 or more years of relevant experience in the nonprofit/NGO/social sector
* Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
* English Proficiency (oral, writing, reading)
* 35 or younger
* Applying to volunteer in a country other than where you are from
* Commitment to return to your home country after the 12-18 month fellowship

2011 Scotland’s Saltire Master’s Scholarship Programme: Creative industries, life sciences, technology, financial services and renewable and clean energy

Scotland’s Saltire Scholarships (SSS) is a substantial programme of scholarships, offered on a matched funding basis between the Government and Scottish Higher Education Institutions. The scheme offers up to 200 awards, each worth £2000, towards the tuition fees of a one year Masters course at any of Scotland’s higher education institutions.

The scholarships are designed to support the promotion of Scotland as a learning nation and a science nation and are therefore targeted at the priority sectors of creative industries, life sciences, technology, financial services and renewable and clean energy (find out what study options are available). These are available across key priority countries:
The scholarships are available to students as part of a wider strategy to promote Scotland as a study destination and showcase Scotland’s higher education offering in international markets. This is the third year of the programme which was launched in January 2009, nearly 400 scholarships have been awarded to date.

Fully Funded PhD Fellowship in the Department of Literary Studies in K U Leuven, Netherlands

We offer an employment as full-time research assistant starting on 2011, October 1st for 1 year. (renewable till 4 years) Interested in the department of literary studies the focus of the Research Unit: Text and Interpretation lies on the rhetorical, narrative and poetic strategies in literary texts , that are looked at from a theroretically reflected point of view and analysed within a discursive context.

A four-year fully funded PhD-fellowship as part of the FWO Research project in cooperation with the members of the Research Unit: Text and Interpretation, the Department of Literature in Leuven and researchers from the Institute of Jewish Studies in Antwerp: ‘As German as Kafka’. A Comparative Analysis of the Articulation of National Identity in German-Jewish Literature in the early 20th Century and German Literature of Migration in the early 21st Century.
• The main task of this fellowship lies in conducting research that will result in the writing of a doctoral disseration.
• Occasional participation in organisation of research activities within the context of the project or within the Department of literature.
• MA in Literary studies or a comparable degree; major in German
• Excellent study results and writing skills
• Interest and enthusiam for research in literature, literary theory and history
• Independent spirit and sense of responsibility
• Proficiency in English and German
