2011-2012 OFID Scholarship for Applicants from Developing Countries

OFID (The OPEC Fund for International Development) is pleased to announce that qualified applicants who have obtained or are on the verge of completing their undergraduate degree and who wish to study for a Master’s degree are welcome to apply for the OFID Scholarship 2011/2012. The OFID scholarship will be awarded to support one student or candidate for Master’s degree studies. The applicant may be from any developing country,  and he/she must first obtain admission to pursue a Master’s degree studies in a relevant field of development, in any recognized university/college in the world. Through its scholarship scheme, OFID aims to help highly motivated, highly-driven individuals overcome one of the biggest challenges to their careers – the cost of graduate studies. The winner of the OFID Scholarship Award will receive a scholarship of up to US$100,000. The funds will be spread over a maximum of two years, toward the completion of a Master’s degree, or its equivalent, at an accredited educational institution, starting in the autumn of the academic year 2011/2012.
Eligibility: Must be between the ages of 23-32 at the time of submitting his/her application.  Must have obtained or be on the verge of completing their undergraduate degree with a Baccalaureate from an accredited college/university, or its equivalent, Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 rating system, or its equivalent, Must be matriculated at an accredited university for the upcoming academic year starting August/September 2010, and must maintain full-time status for the duration of the Master’s Degree. Must be a national of a developing country (please see list of eligible countries below), Must select a subject of study that pertains to OFID’s core mission, such as: economics of development (poverty reduction, energy and sustainable development), environment (desertification), or other related science and technology fields.

12 Full Master’s Scholarships for African Students at University Cattolica, Italy: International MBA (Global Business and Sustainability) Banking and Finance, International Relations, International Cooperation and Development, Economics

Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, as part of its mission to foster relationships with developing countries, has developed a special program for students from the African continent. This program will enable students to study on a full or partial scholarship for degree programs taught in English at UCSC’s Milan Campus. UCSC is pleased to offer for the second year 12 full scholarships that include tuition and board for eligible students from the following African countries:
Eligibility: Admission requirements for all programs include completion of at least a Bachelor Degree from a recognized university and IELTS 6.0 or equivalent if English is not the official language in your country. For the MBA at least three years of work experience and GMAT/GRE are required (students can apply without a GMAT/GRE score; however this test has to be taken before program commencement).

DAAD Postgraduate Scholarship Programme with Special Relevance to Developing Countries, Germany

To do a Post Graduate degree course in select subject at one of the select German universities.
Target group: Very well qualified graduates (4 years) from any discipline with at least 2 years of relevant work experience.
Scholarship Value
• Stipend of Euro 750.00 per month
• A lump sum towards air fare from India to Germany and back
• Exemption from payment of university tuition fees
• A study and research subsidy
• Compulsory health insurance covered by DAAD
• 1 to 6 months German Language Course in Germany – free tuition, boarding, lodging plus pocket allowance during the period of the German language course (preceding studies)

Requirements and Conditions
• A 1st class Bachelor’s Degree
• Candidates come either from a public authority or a state or private company in a developing country and, as such, are engaged in the planning and execution of directives and pro-jects with emphasis on development policies having a bear-ing on technological, economic or social areas.
• There should not be a gap of more than 6 years between the award of last degree and application deadline (31st July) and the candidate should not be older than 36 years*
• Language competencies for courses in German: DSH 2 or TestDaF 4 for courses in English: TOEFL (minimum score: 550 paper based, 213 computer based, 80 internet based) or IELTS (band 6) certificate
• In general, candidates should be residing in India at the time of application. Candidates, who have been in Germany for more than one year at the time of application, are not eligible to apply.
