2011 Scholarships for International Students for Undergraduate Studies, Okan University, Turkey

We offer a wide range academic programs taught in English and Turkish. A variety of scholarships are available for international degree-seeking students. For the international exchange and guest students, there are a great number of courses in English to choose from. We also offer summer programs with exciting seminars and study trips in Istanbul.In the spirit of promoting international education and fostering close educational ties between Turkey and various countries OKAN UNIVERSITY is offering scholarships to international students from the following countries applying for undergraduate studies in the 2011-2012 academic year.

Scholarships will be awarded to successful applicants based on the highest scores in international / national examinations and high school graduation grades. Full or partial scholarships will be applied towards tuition fees for education. Students will be responsible for their own accommodation and living and travel expenses.

Marian D’Eve Memorial Scholarship at University of Canterbury, New Zealand: Education ,Communication Disorders/Audiology

These scholarships were established by the family of Dr Russell Smith and Marian D’Eve, following their tragic loss in August 2005. Both Dr Smith and Marian D’Eve were distinguished graduates of the University of Canterbury. A former graduate and staff member in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Dr Smith was involved in the establishment of HumanWare, one of Canterbury’s major electronics companies and with an international reputation for Braille and speech technology, screen-reading software and video-magnification solutions. Dr Smith was a member of the University of Canterbury Council and patron of the UC Foundation. In 2004, Dr Smith was made a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit in recognition of his career dedicated to improving the lives of the visually impaired.
Marian D’Eve was an early childhood education specialist and author of a handbook for teachers. Also a graduate of the University, Ms D’Eve was a staff member at the Christchurch College of Education teaching early childhood education, with a passion for the education of children with special needs.
Eligibility:The Marian D’Eve Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to a student who is studying, researching or developing aids for early childhood special needs education, in any discipline.

The National Union of Public and General Employees (NUPGE) is a family of eleven component union. Taken together we are one of the largest unions in Canada. Most of our 340,000 members work to deliver public services of every kind to the citizens of their home provinces. We also have a large and growing number of members who work for private businesses.
The National Union of Public and General Employees (NUPGE) offers four scholarships that reflect its pursuit of equal opportunity for all workers. They are open to the children of the National Union’s 340,000 members who are starting a post-secondary education.
The Four scholarships of $1,500 given each year to children of NUPGE members. The name of the scholarships are as follow:
