SPACEMASTER-Joint European Master in Space Science and Technology, Europe

Erasmus Mundus scholarships will be awarded to students and scholars for each of the five Rounds of SpaceMaster beginning 2010-2014. The scholarships are available for EU and non-EU students. The number of scholarships for each Round will be defined by the EU Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA).

* EM scholarship amount for Category A* is 32000 EUR (after deduction of the tuition fees for 2 years) and includes:
o contribution to travel, installation and any other type of costs of 8000 EUR for two years of studies;
o monthly allowance of 1000 EUR during 22 study months and 2 months internship at a partner university or associate member during the first year
* EM scholarship amount for Category B** is 15000 EUR (after deduction of the tuition fees for 2 years) and includes:
o mobility grant of 3000 EUR for travel to a Third Country partner university;
o monthly allowance of 500 EUR during 22 study months and 2 months internship at a partner university or associate member during the first year

* Category A: students who come from a country other than an EU Member State, Iceland, Liechtenstein or Norway and who are not residents nor have carried out their main activity (studies, training or work) for more than a total of 12 months over the last five years in one of these countries
** Category B: students who do not fulfill the Category A criteria

Erasmus Mundus Application Limit
Do notice that for the academic year 2011-12, there is a maximum limit of THREE applications per student for Erasmus Mundus Masters Courses, according to the latest Call for Proposals (EAC/04/09). In the case that a student applies to more than three EM Courses he/she will be excluded from the selection for an Erasmus Mundus Scholarship.

Additional Scholarships

* During the second study year, the Consortium provides Erasmus mobility grants for all students who do not have the Erasmus Mundus scholarship from the Consortium and who fulfill the requirements for the grant. Requirements and information about the grant are available here:

Scholarship Description: MERIT is a multitrack research-oriented master program based on a flexible curriculum that covers a wide area of knowledge in the field of Information & Communication Technologies. The institutions participating in the consortium, located in germany, Belgium, Germany, germany & Sweden belong to CLUSTER.

The Master’s work covers Information & Communication Technologies in a broad sense, including fundamentals such as electromagnetism, signal processing, & information theory, & applications such as communications, remote sensing & picture & voice processing. Half of the work credits are obtained in a second institution of the consortium also a double degree is awarded on successful completion of the program. The language of instruction is English & the program includes local language courses up to 6 ECTS per academic year. Admission is restricted to 40 students.

This Erasmus Mundus Master’s programme has three 15-week semesters in which students take courses. An additional fourth semester is dedicated to the completion of the Master Thesis. The program is research oriented, as thus concentrates on the development of research skills. Graduates of the coursework might need to pursue careers in a research institution by finishing a Ph.D., joining industrial R+D departments or maybe beginning a expertise spin-off company. Therefore, strong emphasis is placed in the coursework of the Master’s coursework on the student’s personal work programme, which is focused on developing research skills. All students ought to have completed a Bachelor’s degree related to Electrical Engineering or related field.

General Admission Requirements are:

*A bachelor degree preferably in electrical or telecommunication engineering or similar. In the Bachelor degree the following course contents must have been successfully passed: Probability Theory, Complex Analysis and Integral Transformations, Linear Circuits and Networks, Electronic Circuits, Fields and Waves, Basic Laboratory in Electronic Circuits and Digital Circuits, Analog and Digital Communications

Erasmus Mundus: Master’s Programme of Environomical Pathways for Sustainable Energy Systems

The master’s programme in Environomical Pathways for Sustainable Energy Systems (SELECT) offers advanced schooling in the field of sustainable energy systems for the future. SELECT aims at delivering schooling for high competency and quality engineering skills in the field, including industrial interaction throughout the programme. Students graduating from the SELECT programme will have gained experience in the following topics:

– Training in multidisciplinary issue analysis and solving.
– Advanced team building in a multinational setting, along with stimulating international experience.
– A novel and multidimensional way of learning involving actual and virtual classrooms
– Close collaboration with industry in the work of thesis work.
– A distinctive network of fellow students, SELECT alumni and industry specialists in the field of sustainable energy.

The SELECT master’s programme is presently a cooperation between the Royal Institute of Know-how in Sweden (KTH), Politecnico di Torino (PoliTo), Eindhoven University of Know-how in the Netherlands (TUE), Technical University of Catalonia in Spain (UPC) and Aalto University School of Science and Know-how in Finland (Aalto). SELECT is also part of the InnoEnergy Sustainable Energy masters programme. It is a two-year Master’s programme including compulsory mobility for the scholars.

SELECT is powered by scholarships opportunities from Erasmus Mundus, as well as the EIT KIC InnoEnergy. Students from all over the world are welcome to apply.

  6. A letter of motivation.
  7. A copy of your passport or some other kind of identification in English.
  8. Two letters of recommendation from professors of the most recently attended higher institution.

– Travel and installation costs – only if the EM master’s programme includes a mobility period to a Third-Country partner: € 3000
– Participation costs (including insurance coverage): € 2000/semester
– Monthly allowance: € 500/month

Who can apply for an Erasmus Mundus scholarship (Action 1)?

Candidates who apply for an Erasmus Mundus Master Programme are at the same time considered for a scholarship nomination for this specific programme. The scholarships are awarded to the highest ranked candidates that fulfill the following scholarship conditions:

  • The applicant has applied correctly, fulfilled the admission requirements and is nominated for a scholarship by the EM consortium.
  • The applicant has not applied to more than three (3) Erasmus Mundus master’s programmes during one round of applications.
  • The applicant should be able to spend his study period in at least two of the consortium partner countries. These two countries must be different from the country in which the applicant has obtained his/her last university degree; the mandatory mobility periods cannot be replaced by virtual mobility, neither can they take place in institutions outside the consortium.
  • The applicant has not yet benefited from an EM master’s programme scholarship.
  • The applicant should not benefit from another Community grant while pursuing their Erasmus Mundus masters studies.
  • The applicant should be enrolled as a full-time student and commit himself to participate in the master’s programme in accordance with the terms defined by the consortium in the Student Agreement. Failure to do so could lead to the cancellation of the scholarship.
