Erasmus Mundus Masters in Management and Engineering of Environment and Energy

The ME3 Masters program extends over 2 years. It is composed of an academic period which lasts 3 semesters, and of an industrial or research project period, which covers the 4th semester.

For the 2011-2013 edition of the ME3 program, 3 options should be available. Students will have to indicate their preference for option during application process. The ME3 academic steering board will decide the final option for each accepted applicants which will be informed in their acceptance letter.

The Consortium of the European joint Masters of Science in Management and Engineering of Environment and Energy (ME3) is composed of five institutions :

– Ecole des Mines de Nantes (EMNantes), France which is the coordinating institution
– Escuela Tecnica Superior de Ingenieros Industriales de Madrid from Universidad Polytecnica de Madrid (UPM/ETSII), Spain
– Kungliga Tekniska Högskolan (Royal Institute of Technology) (KTH), Sweden
– Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME), Hungary
– Queen’s University of Belfast (QUB), Northern Ireland, United Kingdom

The first three institutions will host students during the academic part of the programme. The two last ones will participate in the teaching, and possibly may host students during the last semester devoted to the Master Thesis.

Scholarship Application Deadline:
Erasmus Mundus scholarship Category A is 15 December 2010 for paper applications, and 22 December 2010 for online applications.
The application deadline for candidates who apply for an Erasmus Mundus scholarship Category B is Spring 2011.

Erasmus Mundus Scholarships for Masters Program in Forensic Science 2011, UK

There is an increased worldwide tendency to committing different and more sophisticated kind of crimes that emphasizes the need for a higher number of trained professionals at a high level. This professional focus does not exclude research activities, which are very necessary owing to the dynamic nature of this science.

The globalisation propitiates people migrations and money and goods circulation around the world, which also extend criminal reach, so that the collaboration among Countries is essential, as well as the adoption of international working standards. The situation around crime and the high impact that terrorism and terrorist activities are having in modern societies has pushed the International Community to dedicate resources and develop initiatives to prevent criminal acts.

The different countries in the world are developing their own or joint strategies to make this fight against crime more efficient. An International Forensic Science Specialist Master developed to train and educate cohorts of future forensic scientists can serve this aim and provide with trained professionals to help protect people.

Eligibility:
Applicants must possess a Bachelor degree in Science (or equivalent) from a recognised official Higher Education Institution in order to apply. The candidates need to accredit a minimum grade to access the course, being this 60% (upper second class). In case a percentage is not stated on the official transcript, the candidate will have to supply a certificate from their academic institutions in which percent marks are linked to the different grades awarded by the institution.

-Applicants also need to accredit a sufficient level of English to follow the course (IELTS 6.0, TOEFL 550 paper based, TOEFL 79 internet, or equivalent).

Erasmus Mundus ALGANT Master Scholarship for International Students

The European Union supports the course by financing about a ten scholarships for students outside the European Union, and five for European students. Other sources of funding are also available and tuition fees are kept at a very reasonable level.

Students interested in applying have to complete the application. Below is a list of the documents that will be required in addition to the application form. Note in particular the English language proficiency requirement, since most courses will be in English.

Category A, B & C students

In ALGANT the amount of the full-study scholarships is variable. It is higher for Third-Country master students (Category A scholarships) than for European master students (Category B scholarships) and can be further reduced (to zero!) for those interested students that are selected by the ALGANT Commission, meeting the requirements of ALGANT excellence (Category C scholarships). More specifically:

-Category A Scholarship is an Erasmus Mundus Scholarship (possibly) provided by the European Community and can be awarded to masters students selected by the ALGANT Consortium who come from a country other than a Member State of the European Union, Iceland, Norway, Liechtenstein, Turkey, the Western Balkan countries or Switzerland and who are not residents nor have carried out their main activity (studies, work, etc.) for more than a total of 12 months over the last five years in such a country.

-Category B Scholarship is also an Erasmus Mundus Scholarship (possibly) provided by the European Community and can be awarded to any masters students selected by the ALGANT Commission who do not fulfil the Category A criteria defined above, for example, European students.

-Category C Scholarship is any other kind of Scholarship (possibly) provided by a very broad array of concerns such as math associations, research organizations, public institutions and private non-profit foundations (private self funding included).

Scholarship Application Deadline:The application deadline for the Academic Year 2011/2012 is January 14, 2011 for all categories of applicants.
