NHMRC Career Development Fellowship in Cerebral Palsy Foundation 2011 in Australia

The Cerebral Palsy Foundation will support one Career Development Fellowship per year. The Foundation offers a range of grants to support research into the cure and prevention of cerebral palsy. More information can be gained about the Foundation’s research priorities on their website. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated commitment to, and track record in the prevention or cure of cerebral palsy research. The Cerebral Palsy Foundation may call upon the successful candidate to provide assistance with publicity, education and other events. It also requires acknowledgment of itssupport for the research in any publications or media publicity, and requires a copy of any published articles arising from the supported research.

These fellowships are offered through funding partnerships agreed between NHMRC and each partner organisation. They offer additional opportunities to researchers whose work is particularly relevant to the concerns and research interests of the partner organisations.

Co-funded fellowships are offered alongside other Career Development Fellowships. They are not alternative awards and have the same financial value as all other Career Development Fellowships.

Applicants who are interested in a co-funded award should indicate this by selecting the appropriate option on their Career Development Fellowship application form. Applicants may nominate more than one partnership organisation, and this is encouraged if the proposed research will be of interest to more than one partner organisation. Funding partners welcome opportunities to collaborate in supporting mutually beneficial research.

After all Career Fellowship applications have been assessed and evaluated by NHMRC Peer Review Panels, those which nominated co-funding partners are forwarded to the nominated partner organisations for their own evaluation and review. Partner organisations advise on those applications they wish to co-fund, with NHMRC deciding which applications proceed to funding based on the NHMRC Peer Review outcome and ranking for all applications.

All applications must be submitted electronically using NHMRC’s Research Grant Management System (RGMS). RGMS also provides an online Profile and CV function. This function is used when applying for all types of grants in RGMS. Relevant information from the Profile and CV will be uploaded automatically for the assessment process.

When completing the online application, applicants should refer to the Career Development Fellowships Advice and Instructions to Applicants.
