Indo Swiss Joint Research Programme -2012: Material sciences , Nanotechnologies, Human Health and Medical Sciences

Grants for Joint Research Projects are meant to promote collaborative projects with clearly defined goals involving at least one Swiss and one Indian partner. Applications should describe ambitious research and propose innovative approaches.
Curiosity-driven and goal-oriented research will be evenly supported. In case of goal-oriented proposals, applications should include a detailed dissemination plan specifying how project findings will be used for the benefits of the community, e.g.,
through incorporation into products and services.

Depending on the complexity of the projects, the designation of a project coordinator ensuring coherence, consistency in the consortium, management of the project budget and responsibility for the timely delivery of reports may be required.
The forming of inter- and multidisciplinary research teams is highly encouraged.
Applications will be accepted only from Swiss and Indian citizens or permanent residents of Switzerland and India. Applicants should have a stable/regular appointment as a faculty member at an eligible Swiss/Indian university or research institute.

Prime Minister’s Scholarship Scheme 2010-2011, India: Medical Sciences, Engineering, Computer science, Business Administration

Prime Minister’s Scholarship Scheme has been introduced from the Academic year 2006-07. To encourage higher technical and professional education for the dependent wards of Ex-Servicemen / Ex-Coast Guard and their widows (below officer rank only) and dependent wards / widows of Ex-Servicemen / Ex-Coast Guard who died in harness due to causes attributable to military service / Coast Guard Service, irrespective of the rank.

A total number of 4000 scholarships will be allotted.

Students eligible for the scholarship.
(a) Dependent wards of ex-servicemen / Ex-Coast Guard and their widows (below officer rank only)
(b) Dependent Wards / widows of Ex-servicemen & Ex-Coast Guard who died in harness due to causes attributable to military service / coast guard service, irrespective of the rank.
Note: (i) The candidate irrespective of his marital status is eligible for PMSS. However, an earning / serving candidate is not eligible.
(ii) For dependent wards of widows and widows of personnel died in harness due to causes attributable as at (b), there will be no rank restriction.

How to Apply For Scholarship.

-One candidate to submit only one application form for one course, if any candidate submit two application for more than one course, both the applications will be rejected. Forms are to be downloaded from the website www.mod.nic.in. Application forwarded on any other format will not be considered.
-Application to be forwarded on plain A4 size paper (typed or handwritten) in the prescribed format duly completed in all respects with superscription on the envelope “Prime Minister’s Scholarship Scheme for the Academic Year 2010-11.”

The Beth Yarrow Memorial Award In Medical Science, Australia: Understanding, early detection, treatment and cure of ovarian cancer

The Scholarship is established to support the study and research of cancer, at the Postgraduate level. It is hoped that the Scholarship recipient will make a contribution to the understanding, early detection, treatment and cure of ovarian cancer. Applicants must be proposing to undertake, or be undertaking, full-time Postgraduate Research in the understanding, early detection, treatment and cure of cancer. Applicants will be assessed on the basis of academic merit and on potential to contribute to the understanding, early detection, treatment or cure of cancer. The award recipient may simultaneously hold another scholarship or award such as an Australian Postgraduate Award (APA), International Postgraduate Research Scholarship (IPRS) NHMRC Postgraduate Scholarship or UNSW-funded Postgraduate Research Scholarship. This Scholarship is tenable for one year only. Previous recipients may re-apply. Completed application forms and any supporting documentation should be scanned and emailed (preferably as a single pdf document) to the Graduate Research School on scholarships.grs@unsw.edu.au by the specified closing date.
