BASF/Alfred Chisholm Memorial Scholarship Fund 2010, USA

BASF/Alfred Chisholm Memorial Scholarship Fund was established in 1997 to honor the life of a former BASF employee, Alfred L. Chisholm, who served as a leader in his community, and who was instrumental in raising thousands of dollars to assist students pursuing a college degree.

In memory of Mr. Chisholm and with the support of BASF Corporation’s African American Employee Group (AAEG), students will receive up to $3,000 need based scholarships to assist in furthering their college education for the 2010-11 academic year. Past recipients may re-apply with the new application and be considered.

The scholarship is available to undergraduate students who enroll at Historically Black Colleges and Universities and who must have relatives employed by BASF Corporation. Applicants meeting all the criteria will be forwarded to the BASF Corporation African American Employee Group, Al Chisholm Scholarship Committee for final selection.

In addition, for scholarship award consideration, the following application materials are required and must be uploaded to the online application by the application deadline:

1.Two letters of recommendation: one from a faculty member familiar with the applicant’s academic abilities and another from a civic or community leader.

2. Double-spaced, no more than two pages essay. For details, please go to the essay section of the application.

3. Most recent official transcript.

Minimum GPA: 2.7

Eligible Majors: Accounting, Biology, Chemistry, Finance, Mathematics, Computer Science, Law, Engineering, Supply Chain Management

Marion Rayward Memorial Scholarship in Music, New Zealand

In 2005 the Marion Rayward Memorial Scholarship will offer a new award for study at masters or PhD level. The award is available for a research degree in any field of music education and is tenable at any New Zealand university.

It is hoped that the research will contribute to the strengthening of music education by tackling some perceived inadequacy or problem, or exploring some new approach, or documenting some achievement in New Zealand music education. The research may cover any of the fields of music education.

The award will be valued at $10,000 which will contribute to enrolment fees, research expenses and living cost during the degree period.

Applications:
Applications should include the candidate’s research proposal and a recommendation from the music or education institution in which the degree will be undertaken. The due date for applications is October 1st 2005, but consideration may be given to a student who began work on a research degree before the date on which applications close.

Mary Mallon Memorial Scholarship 2011, New Zealand

The award was established in memory of the late Mary Mallon, Professor in Human Resource Management, to help students attain further qualifications to advance their careers in human resource management.

Value
The award shall have a minimum value of $1,000 for one academic year.

Tenure
One or more Mary Mallon Memorial Scholarships will be awarded annually.

Eligibility
Candidates must be enrolled, in the year the scholarship is awarded, in either 114.899 – Thesis Human Resource Management or 114.900 – PhD Human Resource Management at the Palmerston North campus of Massey University.

Criteria
The Scholarship shall be awarded on the basis of academic merit and consideration will also be given to the nature and costs of the proposed research project.

Responsibility for the Award
The Scholarship shall be awarded by the University Scholarships Committee on the advice of the Department of Management research committee.

Payment
The emolument will be paid in one lump sum presented in person at the Department of Management graduation function in Palmerston North in May, or sent to the recipient in May if the student is unable to attend the graduation function.

Conditions of the award
This scholarship is tenable with other scholarships. The University has the right to refrain from making the award in the event of there being no suitable applicants.
