Masters Scholarships offer a tuition fee waiver (at the home/EU rate). The scholarship covers one year of full time registration. Scholarship applications may be submitted either by post or online. We are only able to accept scholarship applications from individuals who already hold an offer of a place on the relevant programme.The deadline for applications is 4pm on 30 April each year (unless stated otherwise), before entry the following October. To ensure fairness and transparency we do not accept applications after the deadline.
We begin accepting scholarship applications from November, from this date applicants will be able to download an application form.
Your application will be logged and you will receive a confirmation email. If you do not receive a confirmation email within 2 weeks of submitting your application.
Eligibility: In order to be eligible you must: 1.Have applied for and been offered a place on the relevant full time Masters programme 2. Have or expect to obtain a first or upper second class honours degree or equivalent prior to commencing the Masters degree

2011-12 Postgraduate Scholarships at University of Kent, UK: Drama and Theatre Studies, Film Studies, Fine Art, History and Philosophy of Art, and Music and Audio

The School of Arts awards a number of postgraduate scholarships each year.  Applications are invited each year from highly-qualified students to undertake doctoral research and taught MA study. Scholarships are available in all of the following subject areas: Drama and Theatre Studies, Film Studies, Fine Art, History and Philosophy of Art, and Music and Audio. A number of School studentships, paying fees only at the home/EU rate for three years (subject to satisfactory progress) are available for Doctoral study. Holders of these studentships may be offered teaching to supplement their income, which will be separately contracted and fully remunerated at the assistant lecturer rate.
All applicants for University of Kent or School of Arts scholarships must provide the following information: 1.A covering letter confirming their offer of a place to study at Kent plus details of which scholarship(s) they would like to be considered for (and in which order).2.CV. 2.Two academic references. In addition, applicants for research degrees must provide a research proposal (max 1,000 words), together with an example of their writing, and ‘practice as research’ applicants should in addition provide an example of their practice.  Taught MA applicants should supply a sample of written work.

PhD Studentship in the Department of Music and Sound Recording at University of Surrey, UK

We are pleased to offer two studentships to conduct PhD research in music within the department. The successful applicants will each have a good first degree and a Masters’ degree with an appropriate specialisation, within the field of music (details of departmental specialisms can be found on the departmental website). They will have a strong interest in academic research, will have good organisational and IT skills, and will be able to work both independently and in a team. They will first register for PhD within the department during the academic year 2110/12, researching an approved topic.

One studentship is full-time fees only. The second studentship is part-time fees only. The holder will not be expected to contribute to the department’s teaching, although there may be a possibility of undertaking some teaching.These studentships are available from September 2011. You may apply for both, but must state clearly for which you are applying, and why. You may not hold more than one. Studentships will cover Home/EU fees only, although non-EU applicants are welcome (in which case the studentship will be put towards the fee).
