European Master in Transnational Trade Law & Finance

European Master in Transnational Trade Law & Finance (EMTTLF), a new Erasmus Mundus Master Program. This Master is a joint Postgraduate Program offered by 4 European Leading Universities and coordinated by the School of Law of the University of Deusto.

This Master aims are:

image019 To directly respond to this increasing internationalization; to teach international trade law and finance, understood from various perspectives and dimensions; to develop a Programme which dissects the relevant juridical questions arising from international transactions.
-To promote the interdisciplinary and multicultural facets of the Programme, attempting to provide the students with a diversity of working contexts. The students will be pursuing their graduate studies through three distinct but complementary cultural environments: Track 1: Deusto (Spain), Tilburg (The Netherlands), ILF (Germany) or Track 2: Deusto (Spain), Tilburg (The Netherlands), Strasbourg (France).

-To equip the learner with the fundamental tools, at an advanced level, to approach complex realities providing them with competencies and all the necessary elements needed to critically analyze a commercial conflict form a European perspective (First Semester) or from an International perspective (Second Semester).
-To provide three areas of specialization: Intellectual and Industrial Property (pertinent to management and innovation); Finance (related to bank and finance); and finally, European Business Law (oriented towards a broader training in European business trade).
– To offer possibilities to students who wish to either take the internship and professional track or the research track.
-To acquire a trans-national perspective. The Programme will have an impact on the continuous formation of the executive and management board of business enterprises. The pertinent benefits will optimize business results, the opening up of companies to the emerging markets, and the maximization of competitive advantages.
-To focus on a problem-based approach developed by these educational institutions rather than on a traditional methodology.
-To adopt a student-centered approach where she/he is the focal point of learning and will therefore be equipped with the skills to progress independently.

Further Scholarship Information and Application

PhD Studentship in Theoretical Atomic Physics, Sweden

The department of Physics is located in the Albanova University center and has approximately 170 employees, 250 students at undergraduate level and 80 graduate students. There are four research subjects within the postgraduate program: Physics, Theoretical Physics, Medical Radiation Physics and Chemical Physics. These subjects span over several research groups with different research activities. Application can be done within four time periods during the year.

We seek candidates for a PhD studentship in Theoretical Atomic Physics. Our research falls within the area of atomic interactions at low temperatures. In particular we work within the following fields: formation of antihydrogen and collisions between antihydrogen and ordinary matter, universal properties of ultracold few-atom systems, and transport of cold atoms through so-called Brownian Motors. The PhD project will be within one of these areas, but its details will be decided together with the PhD student. The research will require analytical skills as well as proficiency with numerical calculations.

Requirements:
To be accepted as a PhD student in Theoretical Physics one should have studied at least four years at a University and have a BSc in Physics. These studies must include advanced courses in physics during one year and an advanced degree project (a detailed description of one in progress may do). We seek a candidate with analytical capacity and good skills in English.

Terms of employment:
A PhD education is four years (48 months). The 4-year PhD program includes at least 3 years of research and at most one year of course work. The position may be extended up to 1 year if up to 20 % teaching assistance or administration is included in the contract. During the beginning of the PhD education, the student receives a study grant (“utbildningsbidrag”) and towards the end of the education, the student acquires a PhD position (“doktorandanställning”). Envisioned starting date is January 1, 2011 (negotiable).

Applications
Applications should include a letter of intent describing your motivation for applying, a CV including information on previous education, a copy of the masters thesis (or “examensarbete”), other documents supporting the applicants competence and suitability for the position, and address, telephone number and e-mail of two reference persons. The application can be written in English or Swedish. Evaluations will be based on results on University courses, quality of master’s thesis (or “examensarbete”), references, interviews and the letter of intent.

Application Deadline: September 30, 2010
