2011 The University of Kent Graduate School Scholarships, UK

The Graduate School Scholarship Scheme was established in 2009 to celebrate the founding of the University’s Graduate School. This successful scheme has been renewed annually since then; it provides a £1000 scholarship to University of Kent 2011 graduates who earn a Bachelors degree with honours (or undergraduate Masters degree) and register for a postgraduate degree at Kent by 1 October 2011. There is no need to make a separate application. The funding will be provided to all eligible 2011 graduates on registration. The University of Kent offers a broad variety of postgraduate study and research opportunities across a range of superb locations in Canterbury, Medway, Brussels and Paris. Our postgraduates benefit from teaching and supervision by world-leading researchers and have access to excellent facilities and training opportunities.

2011 David Fleming-Brown Scholarship for Master’s and PhD Students, UK

The 2011 round of the David Fleming-Brown Travel Scholarship is now open to applications. The University of Glasgow is delighted to announce the third year of the David Fleming-Brown Travel Scholarship, a Postgraduate Research (PGR) travel award. This Scholarship offers the opportunity for PGR students (PhD or Masters by Research) registered at the University of Glasgow to travel to a North American Institution to enhance their academic experience and to develop new research collaborations with that institution.
Eligibility:

  • The Scholarship is open to all PGR students from any academic discipline currently registered at the University of Glasgow.
  • Candidates must be citizens of an EU or EEA country.  This scheme is not open to overseas students.
  • Placements should be in a North American Institution and for the duration of at least 3 months.
  • Successful applicants will be selected on the basis of his/her academic record and scholarship proposal showing the potential for opportunities to strengthen new research collaborations.
  • Successful applicants will be notified in late May 2011. Funds will be available from early August 2011.

    Postgraduate Annual Fund Scholarships for UK and EU Students, Kingston University, UK

    Through gifts made by Kingston alumni to the Annual Fund1, the Development Office is offering a number of postgraduate scholarships for UK and EU students (classified as ‘Home’ for fees purposes). The aim is to: encourage academic excellence; and allow talented young graduates to continue to higher levels of learning and research. They are available for all courses (except teacher training/PCGE courses) and will pay 50% of the fees (up to £3,000) for a one-year, full-time or two-year, part-time masters programme. Applicants must:  be classed as ‘Home’ for fees purposes; and have already received an offer of a place to study at Kingston. The closing date for scholarship applications for entry into the 2011/12 academic year is Friday 26 August 2011. We cannot consider applications for scholarships received after this deadline.
