Indo Swiss Joint Research Programme -2012: Material sciences , Nanotechnologies, Human Health and Medical Sciences

Grants for Joint Research Projects are meant to promote collaborative projects with clearly defined goals involving at least one Swiss and one Indian partner. Applications should describe ambitious research and propose innovative approaches.
Curiosity-driven and goal-oriented research will be evenly supported. In case of goal-oriented proposals, applications should include a detailed dissemination plan specifying how project findings will be used for the benefits of the community, e.g.,
through incorporation into products and services.

Depending on the complexity of the projects, the designation of a project coordinator ensuring coherence, consistency in the consortium, management of the project budget and responsibility for the timely delivery of reports may be required.
The forming of inter- and multidisciplinary research teams is highly encouraged.
Applications will be accepted only from Swiss and Indian citizens or permanent residents of Switzerland and India. Applicants should have a stable/regular appointment as a faculty member at an eligible Swiss/Indian university or research institute.

Postdoctoral Research Fellowship, University of Ilorin, Nigeria: Applied Sciences,Science and Humanities

As part of her efforts in building a global academic environment, the University of Ilorin offers a variety of Research Fellowships to qualified scholars of foreign nationals to carry out relevant developmental researches. The fellowship is tenable in the following disciplines: Applied Sciences (Engineering and Technology, Medicine, Agriculture); Science (Science, Communication and Information Sciences, Physiology and Anatomy) and Humanities (Arts, Business and Social Sciences, Education and Law).

Eligibility:
The candidate for the fellowship should:
i. Be a non-Nigerian;
ii. Possess a Ph.D ;
iii. Submit a well articulated research proposal in any of the disciplines listed above;
iv. Possess excellent communication skills and be computer literate.

2012 Rhodes Post-Doctoral Fellowship, South Africa: Sciences

The Fellowships are intended to foster existing academic research and scholarly or creative activities within Rhodes University departments and institutes. Ideally a Fellow’s proposed work will closely complement existing programmes in the host department.

Eligibility:Although there is no age restriction, potential Fellows must hold a recently awarded doctoral degree preferably from an institution other than Rhodes University recognized as appropriate to the discipline for which the Fellowship is sought. Successful candidates must be of exceptional merit as evidenced by the quality and corpus of publications or other recognized forms of achievement relevant to the Fellow’s discipline. The Fellowship will be awarded strictly on merit, without regard to race, gender, religion or country of origin.

Application:
Applications should be made through Heads of Departments or Directors of Research Institutes. Applications must include a full curriculum vitae and the names and full contact details of three referees who may be consulted. The Head of Department/Director of Research Institutes must then recommend the applicant including an outline research proposal with details of how Rhodes staff will be involved or benefit. This must then be submitted to the Research Office.
