2012 Rotary Peace Fellowship: International relations, Peace, and Conflict resolution

The Rotary Centers for International Studies in peace and conflict resolution program supports the mission of The Rotary Foundation to further world understanding and peace.
The purpose of the Rotary Peace Centers program is to
• Support and advance research, teaching, publication, and practical field experience on issues of peace, goodwill, causes of conflict, and world understanding
• Inspire people to work for a culture of peace and tolerance while enhancing their capacity, knowledge, and skill by generating interaction between practitioners and academics
• Provide advanced international education opportunities in the area of peace and conflict resolution
• Provide a means for The Rotary Foundation and Rotarians to increase their effectiveness in promoting greater tolerance and cooperation among peoples, leading to world understanding and peace
The Rotary Peace Centers program is intended for individuals who have chosen a career related to international relations, peace, and conflict resolution, who already have work experience in these areas, and who have real potential to positively impact our world. Candidates should consider these objectives carefully before applying and should be prepared to explain in their written statement and interviews how they would support these program objectives. In particular, candidates should demonstrate a commitment to community or international humanitarian service, and working for peace.

Edinburgh Global Online Distance Learning Master’s Scholarships, UK: Humanities, Social Sciences, Medicine, Veterinary Medicine

The University of Edinburgh will offer 6 Master’s scholarships for eligible distance learning Master’s programmes offered by the University. Each scholarship will have a total value of £5,000 which will be deducted from the tuition fee for the entire part-time programme of study.
Scholarships will be available for students pursuing one of the following distance learning programmes: The scholarship will be awarded broadly on the basis of academic merit. Candidates must have, or expect to obtain, a UK first class or 2:1 Honours degree at undergraduate level or the international equivalent. When completing the personal statement of the scholarship application form, please indicate why Distance Learning suits your particular circumstances making reference to both online learning and distance learning.
Eligibility: The scholarships will be awarded to students who are accepted for admission onto the above eligible distance learning Master’s programmes at the University of Edinburgh.

Scholarship is one of 16 Scholarships made possible by the generosity of many industry donors through the IFEA Foundation. Each scholarship covers the full registration costs (travel targeted individuals. Applicants must meet the criteria outlined for the specific scholarship (see above) that they are applying for and cannot be in a financial position to attend without scholarship assistance. Once these requirements are met, Applicants are considered on their cultural diversity, professional aspirations, course of study (if a student), and statement of benefit to themselves and/or their organizations and communities as the result of attending the convention.
