Climate Science Research Partnership for Resident Nationals of an African Country

The Call for Applications is extended to climate researchers and applied climate scientists/practitioners working in the field of African climate variability and change. Applicants must be resident nationals of an African country.

Three types of Fellowships are available:

* Postgraduate Research Fellowships (maximum 12 months duration)
* Post-Doctoral Research Fellowships (maximum 12 months duration)
* Applications Project Fellowships (maximum 6 months duration)

Through the CSRP Fellowships, successful applicants will have the opportunity to use CSRP research outputs (e.g. output from Hadley Centre climate and seasonal prediction models) to further their own research or applications project, interact with MOHC scientists and contribute to the overall CSRP research objectives.

Successful applicants will be funded to make an induction visit to the Met Office Hadley Centre, of up to 4 weeks duration, to learn about the CSRP objectives, retrieve data for the research/project and to help consolidation of their research/project plans.

Reuters Journalism Fellowships at the University of Oxford, UK

The Thomson Reuters Foundation Fellowship Programme offers fully funded Fellowships to well established mid-career journalists from throughout the world. Applicants must have a minimum of five years experience in any branch of journalism and demonstrate sufficient proficiency in English to be able to participate fully in the life of the Programme and write a research paper in English of publishable quality.

Priority will be given to journalists proposing research projects within the areas of focus of the Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism. Details of these can be found within Research.

Other areas of research can be considered providing these are clearly related to the professional work of applicants and will lead to greater excellence in journalism.

Other Fellowships are available specifically for journalists from Russia, Eastern and Central Europe, Australia, Germany and Austria. Details of these can be found under Funding Opportunities.

Duration

Fellowships may be for three, six or nine months covering one or two terms or a full academic year respectively. Dates of entry are agreed with the Head of the Fellowship Programme.

Cordes Fellowships 2011, USA

Cordes Fellowships provide exceptional social entrepreneurs and nonprofit leaders engaged in poverty alleviation and economic justice enterprises the opportunity to participate as Delegates in the Opportunity Collaboration.  The purpose of the Fellowship program is to (a) open doors, minds and networks for emerging social entrepreneurs and nonprofit executives, (b) enrich the Opportunity Collaboration with new, emerging leaders and (c) infuse the collaborative discussions with a diversity of perspectives.
