2011 European Latsis Prize by European Science Foundation, France: Demography

The European Science Foundation (ESF) invites nominations for the European Latsis Prize 2011. The Prize, of a value of 100 000 Swiss Francs, is presented each year by the Latsis Foundation at the ESF Annual Assembly to a scientist or research group in recognition of outstanding and innovative contributions in a selected field of research. The research field for the 2011 Prize.

The criteria used in the selection procedure will be scientific excellence, the enhancement of knowledge, societal impact and contribution to the understanding and solution of European problems. Nominations may be received for individual scholars or for research groups, but no self nominations will be accepted. All nomination forms should include the detailed nomination statement (maximum 2 pages) setting out clear reasons for the submission, Curriculum Vitae and full list of publications of the nominee. Please also ensure all contact details are complete (names and full addresses of nominator and nominee, as well as telephone numbers and email addresses).The nominations will be evaluated by a high-level committee of experts in the field.

Deustche Bank Penultimate Year Scholarship 2011-2012, Australia: Commerce

The Applicant applying for this Scholarship  should be Bachelor of Commerce (and combined degree) undertaking their penultimate year of study.Combined degree students are also eligible but must be in their penultimate year of the degree (the Commerce component may already be completed).
The scholarship is valued at $6,000 (annually), payable in two installments- one upon the award of the scholarship and the other in the final year of study.The scholarship is for tenure of one year, and conditional on full time enrollment in the Bachelor of Commerce (or combined degree).

The Margaret McNamara Memorial Fund 2012 for Female Students, South Africa

The MMMF is making grants, to the value of approximately $US 4000 each, available to female students, 25 years and older, from all African countries enrolled for study at the University of Cape Town.
Criteria
-The applicants must be at least 25 years of age.
-The applicant must be financially needy.
-The applicant must demonstrate that their field of study will aid in the development of women and children in the developing world.
-The applicant must demonstrate a commitment to work for the benefit of women and children.
-The applicant must plan to return to their countries within two years of receiving the grant.
